That would be a S@H enhanced app not astropulse..

I've finished 4 CUDA MB work units, but 6 next ended not even started with computation error (out of memory?). Using 9800 GT (512 MB video, 4GB RAM). What to do - try n' try?

Sorry for writing on Astropulse - can't on Enchanced. It requires credits, but I throught it's a free service...

I have found in the past that I get a similar problem when I use the TV card on this host while running CUDA.

A posible solution try not to use anything that uses the Graphics card while running CUDA or suspend the WU.

It is a free service. The not enough credit?? is to do with the number of WUs retuned. Why?. no idea.

Yes keep on and on. And good luck with future downloads.

Thanks for reply. I've restarted PC and now it's workin' on again.

I wss only using no TV but, as always, Total Commander and Opera (some Flash graphics, perhaps?). And 2 SETI@home Enchanced 6.03 WUs were processing at the moment on my Quad, only...

PS with CUDA I'm suffering graphic lags (saverial times/min, some times up to 2 sec) - is it normal?

Another 3 computation errors after I suspended beta and shot down connected client (to install optimized application for SETI@home).

But after computer restart its back on running.

Using only 80% of CPU power (25% * 3 CPU (3 cores) for 3 SETI@home tasks and 4% CPU for SETI@home beta CUDA).

Were you running a game or anything like that? The GPU does not have any priority settings so it will do everything on first come first serve basis
Newer drivers fixed (for the most part) lags (on the desktop for sure... possibly games as well? I have not tested) by making the drivers handle different priorities.

No, just Opera. And even with all windows closed, browsing Windows start menu do some little lags, more or less.

It's hard to type now...

I've been running the CUDA 6.05 app too and I've noticed brief moments of what you're describing, but it usually passes fairly quickly and for the most part the system responds normally.

Running a Seti main next to it as well.

AMD64 3800+ single core system.

On my PC was installed 180.48 drivers (nVidia)
then I installed 178.28 drivers (with CUDA 2.0) w/o overwriting newer files
It was worked...
Trying correct the lag problem, I removed all nVidia drivers from machine and installed only 178.28 drivers. Now task progress is 0.000%, it not using CPU nor GPU. It was that after 19 seconds of CPU time computer became unresponsinble (using 100% on all 4 cores) for few seconds and after 21 sec of CPU time the task is does nothing, but task is "Running, high priority (00.4 CPUs, 1 CUDA)". Time to completition was 00:00:00 and now 00:36:01 and groving (still 21 sec CPU time and 0.000% progress).
I doubt that installing 180.48 drivers back again will help, but I'll try and will tell if any luck...

With 180.48 only drivers the task reported computation error, next downloaded task at same point maked my computer hang, I had to press "Reset" button.
Are 180.48 drivers doesn't provide CUDA 2.0 support?
Now installed 178.28 drivers, as before. Tasks either report computation error or 0.000% progress. I'll try some more and report if any luck... This time with reinstalling BOINC.

Something is amiss somewhere.. both those drivers have full CUDA support..
Who is the manufacturer of your vid card? (Evga, BFG, etc.)
Try using their drivers instead... I know with my Evga vid card I need to use Evga drivers otherwise I get the odd glitch..

I've installed the correct drivers, but still getting computation errors.
Before was 'out of memory', but now 'feature is not yet implemented'.
13/12/2008 14:11:24||CUDA devices found
13/12/2008 14:11:24||Coprocessor: GeForce 9800 GT (1)

I've installed drivers for monitor, too, tried detaching from project, reinstalling BOINC...
Shouldn't it say 'Coprocessor: LeadTek WinFast PX9800 GT (1)'?

It's only a guess, and it may have been suggested before and I missed it, but have you gone back and and reinstalled the CUDA drivers from Nvidia again. From what I'm reading it appears to me you've only been installing the differnt graphics drivers for the card only? Sorry if I've misread.

I should not install drivers from nVidia. It's nVidia-based, but manufacturer is Realtek.
Now, I'll try other GPU Grid tasks and will see.
EDIT: Oh, *I* misread. Let's try the CUDA drivers from nVidia.

Yes, thanks. I was misleaded by nVidia drivers: default drivers (180.48) and CUDA-dedicated (178.28), both have CUDA support. So, I throught, default RealTek drivers is the same.
Now installed both the nVidia PhysX component and display drivers, that was together with CUDA. I may remove the nVidia display drivers without touching the Phys-X, and then install Realtek drivers. That if I should... Should I? Now it seems that installed both of them :)

And, yes, omg, omg, it's working! Already completed 1 work unit. This time w/o any graphical lags.

EDIT: Byron S Goodgame, you deleted last post? Why?

Glad it worked out, I wouldn't change anything as long as it's working correctly.

EDIT: Byron S Goodgame, you deleted last post? Why?

Saw no need for it once I saw you were going to install the other drivers.

Happy crunching

Edit: just keeping an eye on it I noticed this task but you reported another successfull one at the same time. May not be out of the woods just yet.

True. Got 'out of memory' again. Then I've uninstalled both display drivers, then installed Realtek again and PhysX-only. Not working like this is no CUDA ('feature not yet implemented').
Now downloading CUDA 2.1 beta (180.60).
