This morning I was fixing waterpipe on the roof. Suddenly a crow perched near me. So I tried to contact it in an intellectual way and mimicked a crow cawing. After some trials, the crow cawed in a very strange voice with its feathers around the neck standing on end as if it had replied. Was it talking "hey who's the hell is it, speaking our lingo"? After that, it jumped up to the top of the water tank and flew away. All the time the crow wasn't afraid of me.

It's a new, very interesting experience to me.

So I am wondering crows communicate by voice....

If it had crap on me, in a sense, it would have been a success in interspecies communication!

As with learning any new language, at first your pronunciation will be off a bit. You might have propositioned the crow and confused the poor bird mightly :)

The crow seems to have decided I was not a good apprentice... It doesn't appear again :(
