Profile: Graeme P. Bell

Personal background
Who am I? Just a guy with some CPU to waste. I'm Scottish, living in England. I used to program computers for a living. Now I just mess around with them. I'm in my mid-30's (and inexorably rising).
My formal training spans a degree in Genetics and a diploma in Electronic Engineering.
I grew up on Dr. Who, Star Trek and Star Wars - if anyone can be said to grow up on those. Anything else you want/need to know can probably be gleaned from my web site. www.maclogo.fsnet.co.uk
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think it unlikely that extra-terrrestrial life doesn't exist. The more we discover about extremophile life on Earth, the more likely life elsewhere looks.
As for transmitting a beacon - isn't it a bit late for worrying. We've been transmitting radio and TV signal for near a century now. Maybe we should apologise for the noise.
I run SETI@Home because I'm still a scientist at heart. I'm curious about the universe. I want to know.
