Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course there is life out there! Who are we to think our species is the only intelligence in existence. Given the magnitude of space there is bound to be eventual communication with other beings and whether this is a good thing is anyone's guess. I run SETI@home because my computers are on 24/7; the screensaver aspect is thought provoking and different.
