My wife Aspasia (Sia) retired in 1999 due at the time to medical reasons, fortunately she was given a clean bill of health and together enjoying our retirement.

We both enjoy reading, watching movies on TV and although do not have a large circle of friends, try to keep in touch with family and friends worldwide.

Decided long ago, right or wrong, together with Sia not to have a child or two, but have brought up our domestic helper's daughter in our home, and after having completed matric with distinction, is at present in her second year studying towards a Bachelor degree in journalism and media studies at Rhodes University in Grahamstown.

I enjoy writing and at present trying to complete writing a book on quotes which God willing aim to complete by year end.

I also enjoyed photography and try to shoot with my Nikon Coolpix P90 camera when not busy reading, writing or playing with "Stripes" a ferrell female cat who sleeps in our garage, only visits when hungry, needs attention or wants to play.

I enjoy keeping in touch with a school friend in Canada through Email, facebook and shortly via Skype I hope.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always been fascinated by deep space, the stars, galaxies and planets. Perhaps, that is why I completed the training at the tracking station. Maybe by running SETI@home, it is in a way trying to achieve another milestone in decreasing the horizon of the unknown by going into the unknown.

I think that it is quite amazing to see how much was,is and will be done in the future to search for extraterrestrial intelligence,as I have always believed that we cannot be alone, the challenge though is "are we looking in the right place?"

I do have a few suggestions which I will let you know at a later stage.
