Personal background
I am a 31 year old Software Developer for Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto, Ca.
I have been interested in astronomy most of my life. My parents even had the
Internation Star Registry name a star after me for my 16th Birthday. That was
best present I ever had.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe in the SETI project. I know that there is some kind of intelligent
life out there somewhere. The universe is vast and huge for us to be the only
intelligent beings. I know there will be some kind of contact either by radio
or by visitation. It is all a matter of time. We could benefit from their
technology and philosophies and they could benefit from ours as well. The only
problem is there are bound to be evil beings out there just as there are evil
people here on earth.

I believe we should try to transmit a beacon or some type of signal for others
out there to find us. When we do, the message should be very short and to the
point. It should mention that we are peaceful and mean no harm to anyone and
that we are interested in meeting new alien races.

I have believed in the SETI project from the start when it was still funded by
N.A.S.A. It was a shame that they thought is was a waste of money and
resources. I run the SETI program on every one of my work computers. Only if
everyone chips in, will we be able to determine what is really out there. The
process will take time, which I am willing to invest. This is a project that
should continue on at any cost, because we might have to depend on some other
intelligent race for our own survival. We never know what the future has in
store for us.
