Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I remember when I was young like 5 years old my mom knew if she couldn't find me I'd be out in the back yard laying on a blanket looking up at the stars. We lived out in the country then so there was very little light pollution, I could see "billions and billions" of stars. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many years I did that, probably 10 or so. To this day the awe and massiveness of the universe has never left me. And like Jody Foster in the movie Contact said " if we're the only ones in the universe, then it's a lot of waste of space!" I heard about SETI@home watching the History Channel, checked it out and thought this is pretty cool! If I can do my little part in this project then that makes me part of the bigger picture! |
