Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To the extent that I understand SETI, I believe (we) are about as likely to catch a stray communications signal from space as a baseball player would be to catch a flyball hit to the outfield by closing his eyes and spinning around, while holding his open glove up in the air. Of course, the ball would never get caught with him just sitting on the bench.
