Profile: Dale Snapp

Personal background
I live in Indiana but currently work in Chicago suburb Naperville/Lisle.
I am an electrical design engineer creating 3D solid models for a large truck manufacturer.
I am getting ready to turn 50 years old.
I attended Purdue and Ball State Universities where I majored in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering and Computer Aided Engineering respectively.
In my spare time I play golf, play guitar, sing kereoke, constantly working on home improvements and auto repair (I hate to pay anyone else for things that I can do myself). I love to play video games although I rarely have time for that anymore. And, of course, surfing the web.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there is intelligent life out there somewhere. There are just too many stars and planets for us to be the only intelligent life.

The sooner we find out what is out there, the sooner we can react to either the threat or the oppotunity.

If the US government doesn't want to provide the resources required to keep this project going then someone has too. If it takes a combined effort of hunderds of people to do this, then count me in.
