Personal background
Actuallly, this is my second account for my really slow 486 (and below) machines that are trying hard running the setiathome client. Currently, there is one gateway computer running the client, having an Am486DX5-133 CPU on a Packard-Bell "Thunderhawk" Mainboard with a voltage adaptor and 32MB of RAM on Linux. From time to time, this account gets accompanied by a i486DX-25MHz Database server (*very* low usage *g*). Sometimes I change the CPU for experimental reasons -- just visit my museum of historic CPUs for an overview of how many CPUs there have been in the past -> http://cpu-museum.de
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, it's more a proof of concept running the client than making any sense. Computers need load, that's why I run the client :)
