Personal background
A long time computer user, I am now officially an Information Technologist. It only took me 20 years to finish my Bachelors (don't ask). I am a web designer and AGS gerbil breeder, but to support my family, I work for a non-profit that does Recovery Education with Adults with Mental Illness.

In my off time, I volunteer time with the IPCop firewall project as the translation coordinator. I also volunteer some time to the GeekEnd area of TechRepublic's blogging pages.

I am active with my church and my son's Boy Scout Troop. My daughter is in ballet.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti@home because I can't believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe (if you can consider humans to be intelligent). I also give CPU Cycles to Einstein@Home and Rosetta. If I am not using my computer, I want it to be put to good use. And since I have so many running 24 hours a day, they ALL need to be productive. Too bad most of them are ancient and take so long to finish packets.
