Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The question is not "Does extraterristical life exit" (that for true) - it's more a question of technology to descover them before they descover us.
I don't think that mankind has to do anything which gives the ET's a hint to find us. If some ET's have the technology they will find us. So let us still continue to find them.
From my perspective the most effective way to descover them is to give some cpu-cycles for the SETI@Home project.
