Personal background |
... and I'm depressed at the level of intelligence on this planet that I've been stuck on for more than 30 years now, so I run seti on all my computers in the hope we can make contact with intelligent life somewhere, then I can hitch a ride out of here. If the nice people of seti could write a client that would run in my brain, we'd have all the data checked in no time.
Here I am; brain the size of a planet and I'm asked to tidy the office .... call that job satisfaction, because I don't.
I'm not getting you down am I?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Why run SETI?
The distributed computing model fascinates me. I have yet to find a better use of my PC's processing power when I'm not using it.
Is there extraterrestrial intelligence?
Probably. As far as we know the universe is infinite. Thats a lot of space!
Will intelligence be found?
The search for extraterrestrial intelligence is like searching for a needle in all the haystacks of the world, and then some, so I doubt it will be found, but I don't think that should stop us from looking.
