Profile: Rapparini

Personal background
Physicist from Bologna, oldest university town in the world.
Have been working for the European Union, now retired (was born in 1939) I am very interested in Artificial Intelligence: I am writing stories (in Italian) on this subject and hope to get them published some day. Wish me good luck.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Looking for ETI is an act of faith in the objective existence of the world out there: there are not two worlds, one given and one perceived.
"The world produced brains in which to look at itself" (E. Schroedinger)
Other brains might have a different representation of the world and we could be looking for each other and never find one or the other.
One thing is sure, if you do not look, you will not find (how do you like this?)
