Personal background
Hey folks...how's things?
Name's Chris, I'm at the ripe ol' age of 26 and from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. Lived here all my life - born & bred.

Currently working in IT support and enjoying life.
My loves are my writing, music, my car, my family & friends. The hates...not many...working late, writers block and bad coffee :)

Favourite quote:- "Imagination is more important than knowledge" (Albert Einstein.)

Live happy...keep searching.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think life out there exists? I'd be narrow-minded if I didn't.
As to when and how or where...who knows. I'd give my right arm to have it happen in my lifetime, if it hasn't already! I'd love to believe the conspiracy theories, but you have to wonder...surely with all that activity *something* would be picked up?!

Like I say...I dunno.
The prime concern seems to be the mass panic or hysteria the discovery would invoke; as time goes by doesn't anyone else get the feeling this won't be as much of an issue anymore?
How many people do you know who believe? Or who at least remain open-minded about it all? When I stopped to think, or asked my friends, I was surprised at how many held the same views as we obviously do here, at SETI.

I run SETI@home because I don't play the lottery. Or something close to that. I suppose it's like a bit of a gamble. There's no harm in trying, and it's good to be able to do something to help. There's plenty of occasions this laptop sits idle on screensaver doing nothing...why not make it do what it was meant to do...crunch numbers...get our moneys worth out of Intel and put it to use :)
