Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
After years of thinking that I should contribute, I decided to start. I am a science nerd in all aspects and I think the project is a good one.

First and foremost because of the benefit of change that will arise the day we get hard evidence that there is intelligent life "out there". As it is a shame that some people on this planet need this so called hard evidence to comprehend the fact that we are absolutely not alone. And only after that realization can they start to understand basic facts as;

1: We are, and are not so special that some people believe.
2: We as a species must start to come together or else we might perish.
3: Set aside primitive instincts and small thoughts, instead try to better one self each passing day until death visit us. (It is my observation that most people tend to stop evolving after the age of forty because they believe they have matured enough... perhaps a bigger perspective might change this :)

One could probably continue this list for miles...
