Personal background
My name is Robert Preston Tonson (Bob) Born in Manchester. U.K. in 1942 . Did my schooling at Stretford and left school in 1959 with the sole intention of going to sea.
On 22nd. February 1960 I was sent to the National Sea Training School at Gravesend Kent and two months later on the 29th April 1960 I left there as Deck Trainee and to start my career in the Merchant Navy.
I was at sea a total of some 22 years and in that time met a lot of good friends along the way, be it only for a short time.
So my quest is to try and find some of these ( Board of Trade acquaintance ) and see just what they are doing now in the new millennium .

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I myself think that there is life out there some where..There just has to be we cannot be the only people living in this wide universe.
This is why as a one pc cruncher i keep seti running 24/7..Like the other
four million users of seti format be it the simple screen saver or the seti driver we will still keep looking.
The project is so simple to use and very interesting when you join a group and start accumilating wu's to compete against other groups and clubs..
So keep crunching those numbers
