I live in Scotland and work in an I.T department for an American Company. I used to do a lot of programming but not so much anymore. I build high spec PC's for clients and sometimes repair them. I am 45 years of age, married with 1 16 year old lad and a 13 year old girl. Hobby is Astronomy and I am waiting for the day when I can afford a 12" telescope. (had a 4" and it was useless to say the least).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1:Yes. If you look at the deepest image yet taken from the Hubble and you see the thousands of galaxies and billions of planets and stars in such a small part of the sky then you have to believe it.
2:I waste of time I would of thought. But for a project like SETI is a yes as if there is life out there then I would guess they are a lot more advanced than us. We are very very young at this game.
3:You never know...
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
