Personal background
Greetings fellow SETI members:)
I'm 45, originally from Brooklyn, New York, but have resided in Tampa, Florida for most of my life. Among my hobbies are creating feather pens and pencils with & without nibs. Not just the kind John Hancock used. Primarily I use peacock feathers since only a few miles away there are about 100 peacocks that roam the streets. They molt their colorful feathers around late June, early July. Around Septemberish the Hancock feathers are all you're able to find and I welcome the variation. I also make Mari Gras masks, hair clips, head dresses, jewelry and more. The bamboo that grows close by is used to make pencils.

Last Halloween I made my 12 year old daughter a Cosplay costume. (I didn't know what the heck that was before she enlightened me). She's into this Anime and Manga thing and, well since then I've been getting orders. These orders are primarily from her friends or their parents so I practically give it away. They are all hand sewn.. with no machine. I know.. but I hunt around for different details, remanants and bling (I said it... ) and oddly they turn out very well. I guess I'm making things as a hobby and not charging. Hmm. Perhaps one day I'll learn how to make connections and what the heck "branding" means.

I also have two boys, ages 22 & 23 years of age.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Years ago I waiting for SETI home to, I believe they called it, "Go Live". When it surfaced on the Internet I signed up immediately and then after about a year other things demanded my immediate attention. Recently, my daughter's teacher spoke about SETI which sparked Haley mention it to me; as if she had discovered a new scientific break through. She was pleased to know that I had participated in something so special... on such a large scale. Well, back then there was a visual of outer space (for lack of a better term.. I've only had 1/2 cup of coffee) and you were supposed to watch it for changes or movement. Things have really changed. I must be doing it wrong or I'm not nearly as intelligent as I thought I was. There is no way for me to actively participate and there's no outer space view..or any other view. I'm going to give myself a little more time to explore before I throw in the towel. My daughter is begging me to figure this thing out.

2. The project is an incredible idea. I'm truly amazed and yet surprised that no one thought about it until now. I can't wait to ... see what the heck I could be doing:)

3. I wish there was a more effective way to trouble shoot. I don't even now if my Boinc is on. I tried to sign in at the Boinc page, but to no avail.
