Profile: Ross

Personal background
My name is Ross, and I'm 27 years old. I'm a Web Application Developer living just outside of Cincinnati, OH. When I'm not building some crazy person's idea of a great program, I'm working on my own. I'm constantly keeping up with the latest in Web Development advancements and techniques to keep myself ahead of the curve. Oh, and one more thing: In the words of a great fictional character, Dogbert - Some day, you'll all work for me!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The more I go through life, the more I come to realize that we, as a society, are becoming less and less intelligent. Well educated idiots, if you will. If we make the assumption that intelligence is energy, and apply the Law of the Conservation of Energy, then it serves to suggest that intelligence must exist somewhere. Therefore, I believe that intelligent life must exist elsewhere in the universe, and I am intent on finding it.

I view the SETI@home project to be one of several great methods of seeking out technologically advanced civilizations in the distant and infinite universe.

Additionally, I find it intriguing how certain graphics hardware can be re-purposed to suit such simple processes which serve a much more complicated end.
