Personal background
I enjoy computers and computer-related material. For example there is a "shell" for MS Windows called LiteStep. For information on it visit ls2k.org and/or my site, come.to/litesteplog/ . It's great for you linux users forced to use Windows for some reason...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Mathematically I guess I have to believe ET life is out there. I don't think humans will ever find it. Not intelligent beings we can communicate with that is. If we can't converse with whales or dolphins why would we be able to talk to beings from ANOTHER planet? Not mention they're not going to be bi-pedel like us. Maybe they'll come from some place with a different light spectrum and we won't even be able to see them. Or our sun will blind them, or it'll be too dark, or...this isn't star trek is my only point. Doesn't matter if we transmit a beacon or what we send because they won't understand it anyway. Even if they figured out it wasn't random noise how's an alien going to decode an MP3 :) I run Seti@home for the screen saver and my 'puter should change every so often. So it's a screen saver that takes 100% of my CPU. I'm still trying to figure out why under the break-down by CPU there's only "Pentium" for genuine Intel but all these different models for PowerPC and AMD's chips. What's the deal with that? Why not a 600Mhz P3 vs. a 600Mhz PowerPC? A breakdown of different Intel chip models like AMD has? A real comparison in other words.
