Personal background
Currently I reside in Eastern North Carolina, USA. Beyond the age of forty, yet occasionally I feel as young as two years old or as ancient as two picoseconds past eternity. Although I have some training in a technical craft, I am limited to assisting “the greater good” via donation of computational time on this lowly laptop. (Although my participation is only a drop in the proverbial ocean) I am in the good company of participants with endeavors meant to further not only knowledge but also the well being of our species tangibly and intellectually, its collective cognizance and comprehension.

With that said, my occupational status is in a state of flux. Not specifically a victim of recent economic influenced layoffs I am still one of many currently seeking employment. Personally, within the broad area of engineering support. More to the point, I am a qualified Engineering technician. Which may be loosely defined as a quasi-technical jack of all trades master of none and the lowly gopher “go-fer” or “go for”…assistant. Most activities are associated with relieving engineers of tedious or bothersome tasks in order to achieve project goals and completion. When needed, I function as a reminder that the rest of us non-heady, bipedal, technical linguistically restricted life-forms remain in the daily hum-drum, non-awe-inspiring world of basic day to day survival and all designs and consequently products of those designs will too.

My hobbies are few and mostly boring to others not of similar predisposition, but I will add although it should need not be said that I thoroughly enjoy a romp with my Thesaurus when time and activity allows. In previous employment engagements, I have been tasked to create all forms of Engineering and End User documentation. To many, it may seem this would allow creativity to flourish. But nay, the average end user has the education level of the median American Eighth Grader (or often less) and the documentation purpose or function is solely to inform not to either entertain, educate or enlighten.

On a personal front, I am the guardian / care-giver / slave to:

One exceptionally cute (yes I’m biased) yet extraordinarily demanding Shih Tzu or (Shih-Tzu Kou) as you prefer.

A mixed Jack Russell Terrier/Pitt Bull. (Think about that for a moment)

The semi self absorbed yet personable feline whom endures the physical aspects caused by a ‘failure to thrive’.

Finally, but certainly not last the one pound conundrum of a bad attitude wrapped in feathers posing as an Amazon Parrot.

To conclude, in addition to Seti@Home I donate computational time to Spinhenge@Home.
