1.) I want to help the cause since I believe dem Little Green Men are out there. Like that guy with the weird hair that kept spewing about ancient aliens stuff, it's about the "Aliens!" What's causing the climate change? Aliens. Your beat-up car not working properly? Aliens. GF dumping you? Aliens. Pyramids of Giza? Aliens. Boris Johnson's wacky hair? Aliens. Coronavirus? Aliens. Your (non existent) social life? Aliens.
2.) I think it's an awesome idea to look for life out there... when the time finally comes and we received some alien message on how to build a stargate? We can say "HAH, TOLD YOU!" to the nonbelievers and skeptics. Then again, the second most abundant element in the universe is stupidity--- courtesy of a certain third rock from a certain solar system that's orbiting a certain G Type Star. We've been emitting signals for quite a while now... Imagine when LGMs receives TV signals of the Kardashians? Good grief--- we're probably going to be blacklisted from the galactic community.
