Profile: Kai

Personal background
My name is Kai, I am 24 and work as a web developer. I am currently working on a wiki type links database site for online movies and tv shows called Vextor.TV.

Coding has become my life and I love it!!! I am a php developer that has worked on a number of projects and am obsessed with w3c xhtml compliance. I try to make every page on my websites xhtml (strict) compliant and am never happy till I achieve this goal.

My other hobbies are quite mundane really, I enjoy hiking but following a bad broken leg (Knee Specifically) I don't do that to much anymore, but it is getting better and I have started to get back into it following my physio... I have a flight booked to Las Vegas next year from there im traveling to the town of Rachel to do the whole Area 51 tour (well to the Restricted access signs and guard posts). I am also a Sci-fi fan and love to talk Trek, I participate in Wiki Answers and I think I have answered in the region of a thousand or so questions on Star Trek. (Yes mock the Geek in me, but I can't help who I am!!!)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do you run SETI@home?
To do my small part in the ever growing grid of computers crunching away at the numbers ultimately looking for an answer to that question that has haunted us for so long... Are we alone in the Universe???

What are your views about the project?
I think the effort at Berkley and SETI is vital and I implore you to keep up the good work. It takes real dedication and passion to do what you guys do, and I believe it is our duty to submit and give up our spare computer flops to this visionary mission.

Any suggestions?
I appreciate everything you guys do... Demanding any more of you would be an insult, as I know the long hours you guys put in and I think that is enough. So other than sourcing more funding to expand the project technologically, I can not suggest anything.
