Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes I do think extraterrestrial life exits. I have no idea about when or how we will discover same. The benefits or dangers will be on a level with the intelligence and ethics of the alien life. One danger is our (humans) distrust of anything we're not familiar with and tend to become antagonistic toward same.

2. Our daily activities in outer space ... satellites, etc. are already acting as a beacon for others and the existence of same, is sending much information.

3. In the off-chance that the program I run will come up with an anomaly that would lead to an off-world contact. I believe the project is an excellent one that makes use of otherwise inaccessable or financially unobtainable tools.
