I'm really just a pure hobbiest. I don't work in the IT field (I'm a business major), never had formal IT training, but just started building computers and became hopelessly hooked on building faster machines! I shop the sales and stay just behind the "leading edge" cause that's where the bargains are!
The beauty of this hobby is no matter how much you think you know, you've just scratched the surface! And by the way, the surface just moved!

SETI@Home has really been a trail blazer for all the other distributed computing projects out there. I think Grid computing is the "next big thing"
