This is a most worthwile project, and that is why I've supported it! I'm sure that we are not alone!! Science Fiction has covered up the benefits and dangers of discovering life, I hope for the best (and fear discovery by the Borg, Klingons, or Romulans if they exist outside of fiction...)
I don't believe a beacon is a good idea. Best if WE find THEM, instead of the other way around...
