Personal background
Hello,
I currently reside in Indiana in the United States.

The possibly of ET life has always been of interest to me. I have seen some pretty strange things, but everyone has thier stories, and nobody can say for sure what to make of them, especially with all the secret governemnt technologies that may be hovering in the skies above.

I have recently been on an X-files kick which reminded me of this program which I was running years ago. I thought that I would check it out and see if it was still on-going. To my satisfaction, I found that it is. Of course, there is probably about zero chance of ever catching anything on the graphics while running this program, but it is still interesting and exciting to be a part of a project such as this.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Why do I run SETI@home?
More than anything, I just find it interesting. I find it absurd to say that we are alone in the universe, given the infinate nature of it. There has to be something out there. I cannot say that we have had any contact, or ever will have, but I can't deny the possibility. If and when we do learn of ET life, that day will likely change the mindset of the varying peoples of this world. Hopefully, this ET life will pose no threat and all humanity will unite once we realize that we are not alone in the universe.

2. What are my views about the project?
Obviously, I strongly support it. There will always be people that are eager to help in causes that are of interest to them. This one is especially appealing because it gives some credence and a community to supporters that may not be able to have a serious conversation on the topic in their real world social circles. Although some skeptics may smirk at the effort, if there is intelligent life out there, and this project helps in identifying it, then this very well may be the effort leading to the most significant discovery in world history.

3. Any suggestions?
Since this program is running during idle computer time, I doubt many people are actually watching it operate. I would like to see a summary screen of recently completed scans to see if there was anything significant that stands out. Also, I would like an ongoing posting on the SETI@home website that details any significant finds. It would be nice to get some feedback as to the effectiveness of the project.
