Profile: Shane Barnett

Personal background
Hi I'm Shane!! Everything that people believe in requires some kind of devotion or faith. Almost all of these people get nothing in return except for the path that they've made on their own with the power of being (which we as humans are VERY powerful). The SETI@home project in an aspect is also a type of devotion that derives itself from faith. What is astounding is that the world is so small and yet we have seen nothing better than ourselves and that the universe is so big that we could have no clue.

"The one that likes to deny the existence of any greater being or theory surely is astounding, who else knows everything about the universe?" -Shane Barnett

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I think of SETI all I can do is hope, and then soon after my imagination takes me away often along with impatience and the understanding that nothing might ever happen in my lifetime.

Some of my thoughts about SETI@home aren't uncommon. I think it's a great project with an epic purpose.

Would I ever think of SETI or SETI@home in a bad way? Yes, many things could happen; from us being enslaved or extinct, all the way over to keeping the data of E.T. intelligence or contact with E.T.'s underground.
