Profile: Tiger-Network

Personal background
I live in the mormon capitol of the world (Salt Lake city, Utah)a place where the culture is as barren as the deserts surrounding us. I am twenty-four years of age and eke out a meager living building and repairing computers and networks for the computer-illiterate.

I am an avid shooter and all-around lover of firearms, I collect knives and lighters and, during the summer months, often hike and camp in the mountain or desert wilderness that Utah is known for. I also practice a form of Shamanism employing a number of rituals and sacred plants from around the world (I love the angry looks and insults that I get from the extremely intolerant and largely ignorant Mormons whom make the majority of the populace over my "Yes, I'm a witch:get over it" bumper sticker lol) I also occasionally carve staves, wands, altars and other ritual objects used by my few friends(most of whom are some form of pagan or another).

Every day is a struggle with severe depression and anxiety which have left me almost completely anhedonistic. Only my generous and understanding parents, few friends, and my incredibly loyal and loving cat:Rose keep me going through times of contemplating suicide. Without their support i would not be here to type this today, though I still feel as if i am just passing the time until I finally know the peace of death.

My favorite way to pass time is my vast collection of media: hundreds of movies and thousands of songs; although shooting, hiking, and tinkering with machines such as cars or computers also help. My favorite guns are an antique S&W M1896 military&police revolver in .32 S&W long and my combat-modified Winchester model 1300 police shotgun.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.I first started running Seti@home as a stability test for overclocked pcs, but decided it was a benevolent way to use my network while it would otherwise be idle and unused.

2.Although I am admittedly skeptical of Humanity's chances of finding extra-terrestrial communications, mathematically the odds of us being the only beings beaming radio waves into space at this time are virtually zero. Thus I have decided that my otherwise wasted computer power might as well be put to use on something that may be scientifically significant.

3.Less server downtime! whats the point of running my network full blast 24/7 if I can go a day or two without being able to upload my finished work and recieve new assignments?
