Personal background
Hello I'm new to SETI@Home, but not to the idea of SETI (I'm sure we've all seen Contact hundreds of times...am I the only one?)
I'm a recently seperated Navy vet, and now a grad school recluse.
I enjoy reading science fiction novels, and watching adult swim when not face first in a lab report. Also I can be found playing a bit of WoW, or Halo when not tooling around on my guitar.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Because like the other 90 something percent of the rest of the world I believe that their is life in the far reaches of our Universe, albeit it may not be intelligent, or communicating/traveling FTL to other systems but at its core I have a clear vindiction that there is life out there. And with the advent of such programs to assist in the search is awe inspiring to all those who believe like myself, which leads me into question #2.

2. In all practicality this may prove to be a bit far reaching at best, and ludacrious to put it mildly. But to those true believers like myself as stated earlier this endevour is a joining of a communtiy where we all can dare to dream at the wilest possiblities of success. And for that purpose of joining a sub-culture where we all fit in for a common goal of finding a footprint of ETI is why I am here.

3. Great Work SETI followers, keep up the good work.
