Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run setihome because the search is very important.
The project can have world changing results if "ET" is found.

My suggestion would be to take this project to gravitational waves as soon as it is technically possible. To be honest I have close to no hope that we will be able to find any life with SETI. However it would be a shame not to be involved in it. The window for discovering communication using radiowaves I predict will be around 200 years pr. "race". That means that even if live is there we only have that window to pick them up within the entire timeline of possible life in the region scanned.
Even when earth develops star traveling it will not be with conventional now known means of transport. The need for communication will move out of the 3dimentional space and into the gravitational grid and hence make conventional search impossible for others without the technology.
