| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. I do believe that extraterrestial life exists. As to when and how humans will discover it. That is a very good question. I think that it will be 1 of 2 ways. The other beings will decide we are ready for contact. or, we will become technically advanced enough to explore the stars, and will be able to either make contact, or observe other life forms. The benefits or dangers are astronomical and almost unimaginable.
2. I do not believe that we want to draw attention to ourselves in this way and we would have to transmit this signal in a full 360 degree radius. Otherwise we would lose many possible contact possibilities. If we did send it, we should basically say hello. We are here, and would like to meet you.
3. I run SETI@home because i enjoy watching the data, and I think it would be the best thing if one of my computers found a signal that could possibly be from and ETI. I think the project should continue to be ongoing, and I hope that many more people join in to help the project.
