Personal background
Mike, SETI and World Community fell by the wayside for a few months until the new planet in another galaxy brought some excitement back. The French have launched their own version of a telescope and with the developments of ISS, the Space Shuttle retirement brought my interest back, Various nations will send up and equip ISS while the US goes back to the moon.

I donated the other half toward the World Community Grid based on their research for the many human conditions yet to find a cure. My old MAC G5 really had some speed to it, however Im happy with the Mac Book Pro. Funny the unit got pretty hot, however, There was a fan tweak app to keep the temp down and the unit running 24/7

So thats my story. Im interested in all that space has to offer and what contribution I give may help in some small way the human condition that needs help.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI is as old to me as I can remember when I ran different platforms, Having heard of a sister planet in another galaxy may have been the result that spurred me to load BOINC and share 50/50 with the World Community Grid on a Mac Pro Note Book (Not the workhorse my MAC G5 was. The graphics were there, people unfamiliar with it were full of questions and it spurred interest in SETI.

I realize these are work units. The question is "What are these particular units?" I realize such data may be a monumental task to describe with each unit sent.

Perhaps setting point goals as we reach certain goals would be of some encouragement despite constant crunching of data and some of the points already seen.

A science digest between ISS, the new support and Americas renewed interest in the moon would be great. Information from the Hubble and the french Telescope would be of great interest and an Idea of where SETI is looking relative to that information.

Regards,

Michael
