| I am Robert aka cyberbob, cyberb764, or rmills764 on the internet. I am an activist/philosopher, an ordained spiritual humanist minister and a technology consultant. I live in Berkeley and Oakland Ca USA. Politically I am a libertarian anarchist or Anarchist-Socialist depending on how you might describe me. I see capitalism as an economic system, and that socialism is an alternative economic system and that socialism is an economic system. Spiritually I am a humanist, but not atheist.I believe that science and faith are capable of co-existing in the human consciousness (in fact pure science requires faith). |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| It is preposterous to believe we are the only intelligent life form in this vast universe. In fact it is quite plausible to me that we are offshoots of some more ancient life out there somewhere in this universe. SETI is an instinctual collective conscious effort to find our ancestry and make contact - it is for this reason I participate in this effort. As the physical effort to get out to space and explore - SETI is an invaluable tool to prepare ourselves to the eventual first contact in space. |
