Profile: Ruthi Pascale

Personal background
My name is Ruthi Pascale. I'm a Biology major, with a broad interest in the sciences in general as a hobby. I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I enjoy creating music and art, studying the Universe, and reading sci-fi/fantasy/horror. I plan on working toward a Master's in Biology, and a Doctorate level education in veterinary medicine.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I wish to run SETI@home becaue I believe that the fundamental key in reaching out into the universe is to bring that capability to the educated populace that wishes to find new meaning to our life as memebers of the human race. With SETI@home, there is the possibility to bring it from some sort of vague project that gets undeservedly little positive attention, and ptovide a venue to educate one home computer at a time. To see, perceive and understand are gifts that are to be shared among those that wish to find enlightenment in seeking the objective reality that exists outside of our own Biosphere.

I believe SETI to be a very worthwhile project. As with any level of research there is much more to be gained than meets the eye. This expands our view and understanding of the universe in ways that are as yet unmanifest. The human race holds the capacity to reach out and touch the very fabric of existence, and it should be encouraged as not a luxury of some sort to seek extraterrestrial intelligence, but one of duty and responsibility.

It is almost certain that at a later time, I may have suggestions to offer. As it stands, I feel satisfied with getting to know the existing aspects of SETI@home.
