Personal background
Big Lake, Alaska, 43 or so years old, oilfield mud engineer, reading, horse riding, ski-jouring, dog mushing, honey-dos for the Landlady.

I'm a Christian, and can't wait till I get to Heaven and go exploring to see what other critters God made that we're listening for now.

I'm a Mac man.

I'm a bachelor, and intend to stay that way.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to help find signals from other intelligences... duh.

I think the project is worthwhile... duh, but a long shot. I think it would change the world if we found conclusive evidence of ET intelligence. I'd like to be around to see that bruhaha.

As for suggestions, I'd concentrate on processing the data. I'm not for fancier interfaces, doo-dads, or anything that costs money besides more antenna time and developing better processing techniques.

The only thing I'd spend money on is advertising somehow to make the project wider known. I think there are more people who would participate that don't know about the opportunity.

I'd also like to see some information regarding whether or not people are convinced that the processing time used by BIONIC / SETI@home has adversely affected their computer's life. I wonder myself how much of my hours till machine death I'm sacrificing for SETI@home. I think that's probably a common concern.
