Personal background
I'm an 18 year-old guy from Finland. My hobbies are karate, photography and cycling. That's about it. Especially I love photographing though I'm not even good at it, it's just the taking of pictures that I love so much. I am interested in technology and especially motors. I might become a engineer myself someday (haven't been able to figure out what to "become" when I "grow old")
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why extraterrestrial life wouldn't exist? I think it indeed does exist. I am pretty sure that life is as common thing in the universe as is planets, stars and so on. Ten years ago people were certain that there are no planets at all or only very few outside our solar system. This has now been proved wrong. So if a signal proving the existance of extraterrestial life is received it would not come as a suprise to me. But I am not so sure if we are going to receive such a signal. When I first signed up at SETI two years ago (correction - four years ago!) I predicted that we would receive the signal in about two years. That has certainly not happened. But maybe it will happen in the near future, at least I hope so. At the same time I am being (trying to be) optimistic, pessimistic and realistic :)
