Personal background
I first was attracted to the 'Seti At Home' project because of the pretty colors on their client software. After the initial "oohing and ahhing" wore off, I began to realize that I'm actually making a difference. A very, very, very small difference. A difference so minuscule that I often sit back and revel in my own bewilderment.
I know that the millions of us, combined, can make a difference that I alone can only dream of making. I take solice in the fact that one day, our heirs will look back on us as the trailblazers of distributed computing, as well as the Dreamers of the Dream.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Life is pervasive. It often does not fit our own perception of a hospitable environment. Life is found where you least expect it.
