Personal background
49 yr old who has been in love with the sciences ever since I can remember. Also have a love of history - a prime Jeopardy candidate, a "fountain of useless knowledge", except I have a personality. Married for over 20 years, yes to the same woman, with 3 children. A nurse by trade, but due to back surgery had to essentially give it up. Now i have my own business, though not very successful,so I work for Walmart. Lived in So. California the past 20 years. Was in the Navy for 6 years, as Hospital Corpsman, recommend the experience for all young people. I've worked hard for over 35 years and live life to the fullest - my life philosophy is: "Sanity is not a prerequisite for Life" hence why I lok about 10 years younger then I am.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
An interesting project that need a LOT of data analyzed and all the help it can get to do it. I've been interested in space, after seeing/living thru the entire US space program from Mercury to the shuttles

A valid project, even if you believe in a divine philosophy, there can not be just one planet with "intelligent" life and as old as the universe is, we are not as advanced as other life forms may be. I have seen UFO's both on the East and the West coasts of this country, even living in areas where top secret testing is the norm, all that I have seen can not be entirely from this planet and I have seen quite a bit.
