Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Having studied Physics at college, my understanding of the Universe we live in has grown significantly. Besides my increase in the understanding of basic and advanced Physics concepts, astronomy, cosmology and despite all the discoveries we have made, from the early days of Ptolemy's geocentric universe model to Rutherford's Atomic Structure to Einstein's Special and General Theories of Relativity to modern day science, there is still so much we do not understand, such as the search for dark matter.

I choose to run SETI@Home as a believer of extra-terrestrial intelligence (certainly not as what we stereotypically think of when we discuss extra-terrestrial life). I feel that the discovery of extra terrestrial intelligence will be one of, if not, the biggest discovery to humanity in the history of our existence. I think SETI@Home is a fantastic project for those who wish to take part in further helping SETI.

As part of the world with computers easily at hand, I do my part in helping us as a species to support the discovery. We still have a long way to go on our journey to discovery extra-terrestrial intelligence, tens, maybe hundreds of years before we discover other life out there, we have to keep trying.
