Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have read and admired Carl Sagan since college days.

Since growing up in New Mexico, where the Milky Way is astoundingly visible, I have always had a fascination with space. I could lay for hours on the back porch and envision possible life in those distant stars.

I think that SETI is the kind of exploration that ought to be supported if only because of its long term vision. It's one of those projects that is the search for knowledge for its own sake.
