Personal background
I'm 21, studying at Stockholm University and is rather interested in space, film and music. I have always been interested in space and science fiction (actually, the first music I remember hearing since I was born was Jeff Waynes musical version of The War of the Worlds from 1978), and my first drawings where of (illogical and two dimensional) space ships, and I still draw and paint those kinds of images (and since a few years back I've been trying to compose space themed music, but there is a long way to go before any of that will be good enough for others to hear).
I am a fan of Planetary Society's "Planetary Radio" weekly radio show, and I am also a big fan of science fiction movies and shows, some of my favourite movies being 2001, 2010, Event Horizon and Sunshine and favourite shows being all the Star Trek series, Babylon 5, the new Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I like the project, and just as everyone else I am interested to know if there is anything out there, and I felt I should do what I could to speed up the process of finding out.
2. See above.
3. It wouldn't hurt to have the ability to more precisely tell the BOINC manager where on the hard drive to store the data, as it is now I have barely a gigabyte at the drive i installed the program, but about 200GB on another partition, and as the program only tries to use the partition it is installed on it misses can't use more than that one gigabyte when I could have let it use 10-20 gigabytes on another partition.
