I run my own digital solutions company, Latitude 0º (www.latitude.com.br), and the socio-environmental NGO ilhabela.org (www.ilhabela.org). I live in Ilhabela, Sao Paulo, Brazil, the biggest brazilian oceanic island (23º46'28"S 45º21'20"W), and one of the main reserves of the rain forest. |

Why do I run SETI@home?
When I was 7 years old, I saw Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. As a kid, I loved sci-fi movies and books, and took for granted that I will spend 2001 new year's day with my children on Earth's orbit...
Today, I believe technology evolves slowly than everybody thinks. I'm not sure that extraterrestrial inteligence exists. I only think that it is statistically probably. But I'm sure that, if we do make contact, there is a chance we humans can learn how to preserve our planet and respect ourselves and all the life forms on Earth. |
