Profile: Master of the Multiverse

Personal background
I am a 50 year old Welshman with an abnormal degree of interest in High end audio equipment, mainly DIY full range electrostatic speakers and valve amplification and of course a love of music, my tastes in which I would describe as rather eclectic.

I have been a television engineer for the past 20 years, both manufacture and repair. My participation in this field, while having a deep dislike for 99.9 of the programs (dross)transmitted, programmes that have kept a large majority from achieving their true potential, has often made me feel like the supplier of a damaging narcotic. An upside to this is that these transmissions could be the very signals that make ET aware of us.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run SETI@home because my head does not have a USB port and doing the calculations mentally would cause my brain to implode. No, seriously. Carl Sagan (and Frank Drake) opened my mind to the high probability of ETI many years ago and I see this search as the pinnacle of scientific exploration, a bigger question does not exist.

2. The project has, due to recent technological advancement, become far more capable and hence far more exiting.

3. Employ me. I make real good coffee and will never tire of searching (or making coffee). Did I mention that I make good coffee?
