Profile: Quantum Andy

Personal background
Background:
I am a computer geek who lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
Been working with computers since early days of basic programming on Sinclair’s and commodores

Interests:
Apart from an unhealthy obsession with anything electronic I also like anything to do with New Zealand’s great ocean & beaches. I love fishing, diving, and boating, water-skiing, kayak fishing

My other passions include performance cars, tropical fish and hanging out with my family & kids Jade 7 and Trinity 2.

Computer Description:
No point describing them as they change so much. I generally run about 6 machines 24hrs. 4 XP and 2 Server 2003 test boxes.

How did you find out about SETI@home?
A friend told me about 6 years ago and was in the top 10-15 for New Zealand (SETI Classic) and in the top 1700 for the world that was when I had about 35 PC's running SETI client 24hrs.

I started running SETI because it had a cool screensaver that I thought would make my desktop look sophisticated. Then after a while I started making my way up the stats list and then it became a passion.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Yes I think ET exists. No proof just a feeling and also the thought of we can’t possibly be alone as it would be a huge waste of our vast universe.
