Personal background
We live at the beach and make raku pottery for a living. mmraku is a husband and wife team. I'm Monique and I like SETI.

Why we run SETI:
We started running SETI in i999 when we saw a program on it on CNN.
Mike and I drove a rental car to Arecibo Observatory fron Mayuguez on our honeymoon in 1989. The most amazing part of Arecibo is the geography. You have to honk your horn going around turns becaeuse there isn't always enough room for two vehicles to pass. Then after navigating spire like peaks (into the volcanic rainforest heart of the eastern half of the island) one comes to the telescope. We went to the control room, on a tour, and looked down on a scifi scene to blow the mind. I will always keep that image in my minds eye. Sometimes you see things that make you believe in a better future. It is great to visit there again on our computer.
