Personal background
A Brummie and happy with it, I'm from Birmingham (Britain) and I am 24 years of age. My hobbies include running, swimming and cycling, I also enjoy learning languages: I can speak good German, French, Latin and Italian, reasonable Japanese and terrible Spanish.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am hopeful that SETI@HOME will be successful in proving that the Search for ET Life will not be progressed by looking on the most obvious places such as the places that current radio telescopes scan. I want to help the data backlog get processed, the hydrogen wavebands exhausted, thus we might look somewhere more profitable.

Ideally, the search for ET Life ought to be geared towards *looking* for it, not pretending for the sake of University Investment.

My suggestion would be for efficient searches based upon evidence, not hunches. To collect evidence one needs the correct tools, such as a 'Cyclops' system outside the Van Allen Belt.

It ought to be plainly obvious from the above that I am not patient, and am disdainful of the 'sit back and wait' method. :-)
