Personal background
Hi I'm Daniel.
I have a masters in Physics, but I work with SW now, so this combines two of my greatest interests.
I'm running seti@home on my Linux server which is on 24-7, so I'm making good progress now.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
Yes, I believe ET life exists.

If so, when and how will humans discover it?
When we get better telescopes and are able to find earth like planets we will probably be able to find life by focusing our attention on those planets.
Until then, our hope relies on this project.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Well... one benefit would be to prove all of us right. We will hardly be able to communicate with them, and we'll not be able to visit them.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
If so, what information should we send?
Yes, that might be a good idea. I don't think the specific information is that important, it's more important that we let them know we're here.

Why do you run SETI@home?
Because I want to help the project.

What are your views about the project?
It's a great idea! Too bad there's not a dedicated telescope for this...
