Personal background
Hi I live in Scotland and mostly holiday here as well, its amazing how many places there are to visit in such a small country. We mostly use our caravan which means we can take our German Shepherd dog with us. We like to use the more remote sites or farm sites, we are heading north this winter holiday to hopefully watch the Northern lights or the Aurora Borealis ( please excuse my spelling )so we are hoping for some frosty clear nights. I work in the horticultural business and have done so for 40 years, my main hobby is growing Orchids in a greenhouse in my back garden which can be a challenge especially with the weather. I have also started takeing photographs of the Orchids which is turning into another hobby. I was born and brought up in Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland and am very proud of our Parliament and who knows what our elections will bring next year.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I got interested in Seti and its work when we were caravaning one winter in the highlands of Scotland and my daughter was making Angels in the snow and was looking up at the stars which got me looking as well and the that question is there anyone else up there. The good thing about Scotland is we still have a lot of land that doesnt have light pollution from the citys and town street lights. Looking at the stars here in the summer isnt very good because we have light nights.
